學校資訊

南安普頓索倫特大學 (Southampton Solent University) 成立於1989年，並於2005年7月正式取得大學資格。其歷史可追朔至1856年，當地3所知名學校的結合: 南安普頓藝術學院 (Southampton College of Art)、技術學院(College of Technology)、瓦薩希航海研究學院 (College of Nautical Studies at Warsash)，後者為世界知名的海研究學院之一；此3所學校的結合奠下了現今南安普頓索倫特大學的輝煌歷史、並培養出英國最優秀的海洋產業、創意產業、運動產業的知名人才。

 

學校共設有2座校區，主校區位於南安普頓市中心 (Southampton)、另一校區位於市郊小鎮瓦薩希(Warsash)。大學所開設的課程涵蓋: 商學、藝術設計、傳媒、法律、旅遊、航海/海洋、工程、運動等。在與業界緊密的合作關係下，所提供的實習課程最為學生們所喜愛，學生可近距離體驗、並增加學習經驗，為日後工作發展奠下良好的基礎。

環境

南安普敦市 (Southampton) 位於英國南部的沿海地區，景色秀麗、綠樹成蔭；離首都倫敦約80英哩，乘坐火車約1個多小時即可到達，亦可乘船抵達法國或前往歐洲其他國家，無論路上、航空或海上交通都十分便利，是一座十分現代化的城市。城市早期以港口貿易和輪船製造業而聞名，港口碼頭經常舉辦國際性的帆船比賽，著名的鐵達尼號便是從南安普敦市的港口啟航；全世界最大的英國皇家郵輪 - 瑪麗皇后二號 (RMS Queen Mary 2) 亦是由畢業於南安普敦大學 (University of Southampton) 的 Stephen Payne 所設計興建。

城市內建有英國南部最大家的購物中心、以及多不勝數的電影院、一流的歌劇院、音樂廳、新興畫廊、足球場和設施完善的體育館；其他著名的景點像是New Forest、Stonehenge 亦在城市附近。城裡每年9月都會於五月花公園 (Mayflower Park) 舉辦南安普敦船展 (Southampton Boat Show)，每年都會吸引超過600多個廠商參展，為國內最大型的展覽之一，與倫敦船展並列為英國年度最盛大重要的船展。

設備

南安普頓索倫特大學 (Southampton Solent University) 近年斥資百萬英鎊於校園設備更新、擴建，提供學生新穎、先進的學習設備。學校主圖書館 - Mountbatten Library 擁有豐富的藏書、期刊，並設有個人專用的閱覽空間、電腦資訊室、備有快速的資料搜尋服務。此外學校的學生服務中心亦提供高品質的服務項目，包含: 課業/就業諮詢、國際學生支援服務、心理諮商、醫療中心等。其中以就業諮詢最為受歡迎，學生可參考由專業人士所提供的未來職場生涯規劃/建議，並同時瀏覽打工、兼差等工作/志工資訊。

住宿資訊

南安普頓索倫特大學提供多種住宿選擇: 學校宿舍、當地私人住宿、暑期住宿。國際學生僅需於申請截止日前提出申請，便可享有第一年的住宿資格。大學共設有６棟校內宿舍，提供逾２３００間單人房；每棟宿舍均位於步行可抵達校區、市中心的距離，提供學生便捷、安全、寧靜的住宿環境。

校內宿舍均為公寓式的現代設計風格，並設有共用廚房、以及交誼廳設備，學生可自行準備喜愛的餐食；共用廚房均設有基本的烹飪設備、以及冰箱、電爐、微波爐、熱水壺等，學生可自行使用。同時每棟宿舍均設有交誼廳，提供學生與同學/朋友交流的區域，並設有撞球桌、電視、桌上足球等娛樂設備、以及免費網路、販賣機、投幣式自動洗衣機、自行車停放處等共用區域。

 

學校宿舍:

．Deanery Student Residence

分３棟宿舍區，公寓式建築，每層樓分為７至１０間房，共提供４２２間單人套房。自宿舍區步行約１０分鐘可至校區、市中心，鄰近酒吧、電影院、餐廳、咖啡廳。

．Chantry Student Residence

提供２０８間單人雅房。自宿舍區步行約１０分鐘可至校區、市中心，鄰近酒吧、電影院、餐廳、咖啡廳。

．Kimber and David Moxon Annexe Student Residence

提供２７４間單人套房、同時設有無障礙空間、音樂練習室，自宿舍區可俯視 Hoglands Park 美景。是距離學校最近的宿舍。

．Hamwic Student Residence

提供２２８間單人套房、同時設有無障礙空間。自宿舍區步行約１０分鐘可至校區、市中心，鄰近酒吧、電影院、餐廳、咖啡廳。

．Lucia Foster Welch Student Residence

分７棟宿舍區，公寓式建築，每層樓分為７至１０間房，共提供８０５間單人雅房、同時設有無障礙空間，是最具規模的宿舍區。

．Emily Davies Student Residence

分４棟宿舍區，公寓式建築，每層樓分為３至４間房，共提供２４０間單人房。４棟宿舍區圍繞著中央花園。鄰近West Quay and Marlands Shopping Malls，是喜愛購物者的天堂。
