肯塔基州（Kentucky）

肯塔基州位於美國中東部，又有「藍草之州」的美稱，盛產純種馬，每年的肯塔基賽馬是所有馬術愛好者引頸期盼的盛會。除了駿馬之外，肯塔基州也有菸草以及波旁酒的出產。而本州的美景如詩如畫，在肯塔基能看見廣闊的湖泊、草原、硬木森林、滂沱的瀑布和壯闊的洞窟。

肯塔基州的歷史充盈著濃厚的傳奇色彩，在這裡有說不完的故事、傳唱不完的歌謠。傳奇人物如：探險獵人丹尼爾布尼為本州的開州先鋒，他開闢了鮮無人煙的崎嶇路，建立了布尼斯堡作為肯塔基開州之初的要塞堡壘；發明了布伊刀的詹姆斯布伊也來自肯塔基州，他後來成為了德克薩斯州的遊騎兵，死於阿拉摩之戰。

肯塔基州也是許多歌曲創作者的靈感發源地，肯塔基已故歌手比爾門羅又名「藍草原音樂之父」曾做歌曲「肯塔基的藍月亮」、「我肯塔基的薔薇」等膾炙人口的樂曲來緬懷家鄉的風光。而由史黛芬福斯特所寫的「我的家鄉肯塔基」目前則是肯塔基州的官方州歌。

Kentucky is in the east central region of the United States and has the beautiful name “the Bluegrass State”. Kentucky is famous for horse breeding, and the annul Kentucky Derby attracts thousands of horse racing fans to come to the state. Kentucky has big tobacco farms and you can also find fine bourbon in the state. Kentucky is a state full of stunning natural landscape: lakes, hardwood forests, spectacular waterfalls, and magnificent caves.

The history of Kentucky is like a book full of legendary figures, stories, and songs. Daniel Boone, explorer, hunter, and woodsman cleared the Wilderness Road and founded Fort Boonesborough; James Bowie, the designer of the well-known Bowie knife, became a Texas Ranger and later died at the Alamo. Singers, musicians, and songwriters have honored Kentucky for generations. Bill Monroe who is known as "The Father of Bluegrass Music" composed “Blue Moon of Kentucky” and “My Rose of Old Kentucky”; The Coal Miner's Daughter Loretta Lynn and her “Blue Kentucky Girl”; Stephen Foster's “My Old Kentucky Home” which is now the official state song of Kentucky.
